In today’s world, women are all too hard on themselves after giving birth. Realistically, after you give birth, your body may still look as though it is 3 months pregnant. And that should not be so surprising considering it took your body 9 months to create such a beautiful miracle.
Unfortunately, in today’s world, we are surrounded by celebrities that appear to bounce back in seconds. While that can be difficult to look past, we want to encourage moms to do so and be inspired by other mothers like Candice Swanepoel. Just this week, Candice took to Instagram to call out internet trolls who had negative things to say about her body, which is only 12 days postpartum.
Candice – first off, we think you look amazing! Second off – we want to celebrate moms like Candice for empowering other new moms with her own truth and being transparent with them. Candice talks about how beauty standards are impossible to meet these days and points out that she is not ashamed. We couldn’t agree more. By spotlighting herself, Candice shows how much deeper her beauty is.
In today’s world of post-partum depression and anxiety, it is so important for moms to support each other and build each other up. At the end of the day, motherhood is not a competition. Moms need each other. And when moms are there for each other, they’re putting all their awesome mothering skills to the best use, which in turn will make each mom a better mom.
